Printed clear sheet for forming and packaging

PET and PETG Sheet Printing

PET and PETG combine clear appearance with useful cutting, folding and forming behavior. Printing must be planned around the exact grade, surface treatment and later conversion process so the ink stays aligned and intact on the finished component.

Project logic

Printing graphics on PET and PETG plastic sheets
01

PET and PETG are related but not interchangeable

PET is central to packaging conversion, while PETG offers tough clear fabrication and easier deep forming. Ink, heat and fold behavior should be proven on the selected construction rather than transferred from another material.

02

Recycled content can influence appearance

RPET construction and recycled-content level may change color or transparency. When graphics depend on a clear background, approve the complete printed stack on production material.

03

The print sequence follows the final product

Flat sheets, folding boxes and thermoformed parts require different registration logic. We map artwork to the finished geometry before printing begins.

Production route

One controlled path from brief to delivery.

01

Select the construction

Choose PET, recycled-content, GAG or PETG around print, forming and appearance.

02

Test the print system

Approve adhesion, color, white ink and cure on representative sheet.

03

Convert with registration

Die cut, crease, bend or form from defined artwork datums.

04

Inspect and pack

Protect clear and printed surfaces with interleaving and project labels.

Common questions

Details buyers ask before an RFQ.

Can PETG be UV printed?+

Yes, with a compatible ink and surface. Adhesion and curing should be approved on the exact grade.

Can printed PET be thermoformed?+

Some projects can combine printing and forming, but ink stretch, heat and registration need a representative forming trial.

Can recycled PET be printed?+

Yes. The recycled-content construction and appearance standard should be confirmed before print approval.
